Welcome to the 2010 Track Season! We are hoping that this is a fun and positive opportunity to stay active, compete, and experience teamwork for our athletes this year.
As many of you know, this year we have added 6th Grade Track. Although 6th Grade Track practices everyday with 7th and 8th grade, they do have separate track meets throughout the season (please see attached schedule). Because track meets for 7th and 8th grade are on Wednesdays, there will be no 6th grade track on Wednesdays.
All students who participating in track, including 6th graders, need to have a current physical card on file in the front office in order to begin practice. Physical cards are available in the front office, and are good for one calendar year. Please sign up in the school office to participate in track.
THE FOLLOWING ARE EXPECTATIONS FOR THE LINCOLN MIDDLE SCHOOL TRACK SEASON:
Be on Time: This year practices will take place from 3:00- 4:45 Monday – Friday. Full participation is expected in each track practice in order to run at meets. If a student has a conflict please let one of the coaches know.
Come Prepared. Students are expected to come prepared “dressed out” for whatever conditions Colorado might through at us in April and May. Students are asked to have a good pair of running shoes, running shorts, t-shirt, sweatshirt, sweatpants, and a water bottle ready at each practice. If students don’t already have a locker from P.E. class, they will be assigned one. Students are also encouraged to make healthy and nutritious choices in their eating habits.
Work Hard. Track can challenge you. Track can change the way you think about yourself as an individual and as a team member. We challenge students to do their best at all times and participate fully in each practice.
Be Positive. Act at all times as a positive member of the Lincoln Community. Respect your teammates, opponents, coaches, officials, equipment, and yourself.
Have Fun!
